What’s on my Baby Registry
When I first started the task of creating our baby registry I found it very overwhelming! There are so many things out there for babies – What did we really need? What should we splurge on? What really isn’t worth buying?
I took a quiz that generated a checklist of all the different things that we would need, based on my answers to the questions. From there Henri and I paired the list down even more and removed things like sippy cups, high chair and convertible car seat that we wouldn’t need during the first year. We also bought the big ticket items like the stroller, changing table/dresser and chair ourselves so those didn’t make the registry either.
After all of this we were left with a pretty bare-boned list, which is perfect for our style and the minimal storage in our current apartment. Today I thought I would share the items that made the cut – excluding some boring things like night lights and first aid kits. 😉
So without further ado – here’s what’s on my baby registry…
4moms mamaRoo – Every mom I know that has a mamaRoo swears by it so it was top of my list of baby rockers. 🙂
Guava Family Lotus Everywhere Crib – I first heard on this pack-n-play on the Atomic Moms podcast. What sold me on it was in all the reviews I read the two most common comments were that it was easy to set up and that it was very compact and easy to travel with.
Aden & Anais swaddles – We will definitely be swaddling Lavinia for bedtime while she is little and these swaddles seem to be some of the best – not to mention that their patterns are absolutely adorable!
Halo Sleepsack – Swaddling can be tough to get the hang of so I also registered for a Halo Sleepsack in case a family member is watching Lavinia or for after those middle of the night diaper changes when Henri or I are so tired that we just can’t get that swaddle right. 😉
ergobaby Performance Baby Carrier – Henri and I love going on hikes and being active together and that is something that we want to share with Lavinia as well. I’m really excited for all the family hikes we’ll take with her in tow in this carrier!
MOBY Wrap Classic & Solly Baby Wrap – I’m always busy so I think that baby wearing is going to greatly enhance my productivity post-baby. I’ve heard great things about both the MOBY and Solly wraps so I figured I’d give them both a go. 🙂
Flyebaby Travel Hammock – I foresee a lot of travel our first year with baby (including long flights home to visit my family) and this hammock will make the process easier on all of us.
Peaceful Jungle Boppy Pillow – Everything I’ve heard about the Boppy pillows has been extremely positive. It has many uses like feeding, lounging and “tummy” time. I love the pattern of this cover and the jungle animal theme goes nicely with the wallpaper in the nursery.
Bumbo Floor Seat – These seats are great for when baby is starting to sit up but may need a little assistance. It can be used during play time, meal time and just hanging out.
Philips AVENT Natural Infant Starter Set – There are so many great bottle options out there that I had a hard time deciding which to register for. I settled on AVENT because the nipples are very good at simulating breasts and since we will be breastfeeding these should help combat any breast/bottle confusion.
bumGenius Original Pocket & Freetime All-In-One Cloth Diapers – We’ve decided to use cloth diapers and after doing a lot of research I landed on these two styles from bumGenius. They are very durable, easy to use and super, super cute!
Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail – This was one of the few diaper pails that I could find that is suggested for use with cloth diapers and the design really helps to lock in any smells. Those two factors made the Ubbi an easy choice!
Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier – Every nursery needs a humidifier and I just loved the look of this one, plus its adorable to boot!
NoseFrida (The Snotsucker) – As gross as it seems/looks every review I’ve seen says that this thing really works!
Vulli® Sophie la girafe® Teething Toy – Even before we got pregnant I had seen this toy/teether around and I thought it was the cutest thing ever – plus it’s French! So of course it had to be on our registry!
