Thinking Out Loud Thursday – 9/18/14
It’s been awhile since I’ve jumped on the Thinking Out Loud train but today I’m back… lots of random thoughts! Thanks as always to Amanda for hosting!
1. First and foremost, the Runner’s World Half & Festival is coming up fast! In exactly one month the Hat Trick will be kicking off with the 5K & 10K. I would LOVE for you to be there too so sign up and use one of the coupon codes below when you register for 10% off. It’s going to be a really fun weekend!2. Yesterday I was cresting a hill during my run and as I started going down the other side I noticed a gal running ahead of me with a long blonde ponytail that looked similar to mine. Right away I knew it was my baby sis and so I sprinted to catch up with her. Running with sisters in seriously the best! Also, I may have brainwashed her into thinking that ProCompression sleeves are the best thing ever so obviously she was #keepingittight
3. In Cali we would go to Henri’s parents’ house for dinner about once a week and his mom would cook us a delicious Mexican meal. Since the big move I’ve taking on the weekly Mexican meal. This week Henri requested Chilaquiles – corn tortillas lightly fried in oil and then simmered with spicy tomato sauce and queso fresco. He’s lucky I love him so much 😉4. This weekend Henri and I are going apple picking with some friends and I can’t wait! Henri has never been before so I can’t wait to see the look on his face or to get lost in the Hedge Maze with him! (From a few years ago when we went pumpkin picking wih Henri’s fam)
5. Speaking of apple picking I’ve been eyeing this recipe for awhile and think it would make great use of all those apples we’ll be bringing home this weekend!
6. Work has been so busy recently. Sometimes accounting can be boring and other times there are things that you have to figure out that are like one giant puzzle. I feel like I’ve been solving puzzle after puzzle for the past few weeks. Hopefully, as of today things will slow down but man my brain was in overdrive for a while there.
7. This morning I woke up to this picture from my mom… Florence is such a beautiful city that sometimes it’s hard to believe that I used to call it home. Ah Firenze, mi manchi!8. And last but not least, I am so excited to share that I officially joined the Oiselle Flock yesterday! I’m really excited to be a part of an awesome group of ladies that share the same passion that I do for running and fitness!
Tell me about your run today? How was it?
What is your favorite apple recipe? I love apple crisp! For some reason I’m not a huge pie person so crisps are much more appealing to me. Who does like a sugary, buttery crumble on top of their fruit?? haha
