Socks, A Trail Run and Lazy Chicken Pot Pie

Good morning and happy Friday!

I knew it was going to be a good day when I woke up to this e-mail from ProCompression! 40% off storewide!! Wow! pro fall saleNow might be the perfect time to stock up for those holiday theme races. I’m already eyeing the red marathon socks for this year’s Christmas races!

I took yesterday’s run to the trails and it was glorious. This particular trail has a lot of rolling hills and is full of rocks and roots so my pace was a bit slower than normal but that doesn’t matter much because trails make you stronger!! photo 2 (39)This view of the lake through the leave took my breath away. This is why I love running in the morning!photo 1 (41)Dinner was one of our favorites – lazy chicken pot pie. I still haven’t perfected getting the biscuits all the way cooked but it was still yummy! Definitely a go-to for the fall/winter months.photo 1 (42)I ended the day with some reading (still can’t put down The Book Thief) while this little face stared at me the entire time. What a goof!photo 3 (30)

And as always I’ll end with a little randomness…

1. Today is my bestest California running buddy’s birthday!! She is running the St. George Marathon 2 weeks from tomorrow and is totally going to ROCK it! I miss her so much and can’t wait until Henri and I get to travel back to Cali so I can run with her again! 😀

How often do you run on trails? What are the trails near you like? Here they are really wooded and dirt trails. In California they are more sandy and wide open.

If you have a pet what are some of their goofy behaviors?
