Scenes From Our Trip to Florida
Wow – long time no talk! Last weekend’s trip to Florida was a blast but we were so busy each day I didn’t have a chance to sit down and update you guys on what we were up to! The race was just okay, it was hard and I didn’t run the time I was hoping for BUT I will talk more about that in a different post. Today I want to focus on all of the fun that my mom and I had on our quick trip!
MA sent us off with a nice little snow flurry… how fitting. (p.s. I had no idea Worcester had an airport until this trip… weird!)
My training partner got me a subscription to Running Times and I got my first issue just in time for our trip. I loved seeing my fave shoes in their Spring Shoe Guide – Altra One2s allllll the way!
Coconut Shrimp Tacos at Bahama Breeze = the best idea ever!
My mommy joined me on the bike for my shake out run Friday morning. Yes, that’s a winter coat she’s wearing… oh Florida you really put your best foot forward for us this weekend (not. haha)
Felt realllllly good on my shake out run – 7:10 average for 4 miles + 6 strides
She was just a little excited when we found a Menchies! 🙂
Friday night dinner at BRIO – after the Chicago Marathon my official pre-race meal is Penne a la Vodka. So darn good!
Race morning mother-daughter selfie – are either of our eyes open??? haha
Pancakes, eggs and bacon are the best after a hard, long race. Keke’s was so so good!
I thought the ghost pepper burger was a good idea. My mom said it looked my my eyes were going to pop out of my head…
Menchies round 2 to cool off my mouth from the ghost peppers!
Clearly the highlights of the trip all had to do with food, haha 😉 I guess that’s what happens when you are in Florida and it’s overcast and rainy every day…
Do you have a pre-race meal that you always eat?
Did you race this weekend?? Tell me all about it?
What is the spiciest thing you ever ate?
