Santa Barbara Part 2
Hey-o! How it is already Thursday? I guess time flies when you a mini-two day vacation in the middle of the week. 😉
After my track workout on Tuesday I grabbed a latte at Starbucks and asked the barista for a good lunch suggestion nearby. She pointed out Natural Cafe across the street so I headed over to check out the menu. The Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich caught my eye immediately so I order it to go and headed back to the hotel to enjoy it on our patio. I also grabbed an apple that I brought with me from home.
The rest of my Tuesday was pretty low-key – I had a project and a paper due for one of my classes so I hunkered down in the room and got to work. It’s hard to complain about doing school work when you have a view like this though!
I woke up early yesterday to sneak in a run before we checked out at 9. I ran 5 miles around the hotel and along the beach.
I kept it short and easy to recover from the hard track workout.
Henri had to work a half day so I loaded all my stuff into my car and headed out to find lunch before I hit the road. Lily, one of my athletes that used to live in SB, suggested The Shop and since it was right on my way home I took her advice.
I ordered a latte, the Yogi (Shop-made vanilla yogurt, fresh seasonal fruit, chopped pecans and local honey), and a buttermilk biscuit. Everything was so fresh and well made but the start of the show was the biscuit! It was warm and toasty and they served it with honey butter and blueberry jam/sauce.
I can’t wait to go back to SB with Henri and take him to The Shop because I know that he’d love it too!
I made it home around mid-day yesterday, and spent the rest of the afternoon working on getting the apartment put together. We have very limited storage space which has been my biggest nemesis in organizing but things are slowly coming together. I’ve been having a lot of fun decorating but am ready to be done and just enjoy our new place!
