Natural Products for Pregnancy & a Giveaway!

When Henri and I first started talking about starting a family I knew that there were a few changing I wanted to make in my beauty care routine before I got pregnant. Mostly I wanted to find some natural alternatives to the products I was already using – or would use in pregnancy. My main focus was on deodorant and any lotions that I would use while pregnant. 

First off – natural deodorant. Now this is a switch that I’ve been trying to make on and off for years. I tried Tom’s of Maine for a while but I sweat right through the stuff! A week into using it Henri turned to me while we were watching a soccer game on TV and said “Is that smell you? You’ve never had B.O. before!” So, yeah, I tossed that in the trash the next day! haha

It wasn’t until this past fall that I found the best natural deodorant. Funnily enough I discovered it at the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. My friend and I curiously stopped at the San Diego Bath & Body Co. booth and talked to their friendly representative for awhile about all of their products. Because of my previous experience with natural deodorants I was a bit skeptical but the scents were so lovely that I decided to give the lavender and the eucalyptus a try! I also scooped up a tube of their Hint of Mint chapstick and a bottle of Lavender Vanilla Lotion.

The chapstick and lotion where a hit right away – the scents are light and refreshing and both products really work! But the deodorant was what really surprised me. Both of the scents that I chose are amazing, I especially love the eucalyptus and it even helped ease some of my morning sickness early in pregnancy. As lovely as they smelled I was most blown away by how well the deodorant worked! I didn’t sweat, I stayed smelling fresh (which Henri definitely appreciates) and they even stand up to running and working out. Most importantly they are all natural and don’t use aluminum! San Diego Bath & Body Co. is definitely going to be my preferred deodorant even after pregnancy. 🙂

My other favorite beauty product for pregnancy is Zoe Organics Belly Oil & Belly Butter. I first got samples of each when we toured our midwife’s office and ended up buying full sized products when they were on sale on Black Friday. Both are made from organic ingredients and smell lovely. Zoe Organics also has a lot of other products that I can’t wait to try once baby arrives, like their Baby Oil, Bath Wash & Diaper Balm.
