Lavinia’s Nursery Tour
Happy Friday! Who else is looking forward to the weekend? Henri and I are planning to lay low – besides a potential outing to Caioti for their special maternity greens salad. Hopefully by Monday we’ll have a new, little family member!
Speaking of Lavinia – I thought I would share a little tour of her nursery… especially because after her arrival it will never look as neat and organized as it does right now. 😉
The first thing that I settled on for Lavinia’s nursery was this wallpaper from Wall Candy Arts. I just fell in love with the animal theme with a hint of girly flare and the moment I saw it I decided to build the nursery around it. I think it serves the perfect backdrop for the rest of the room.
I really wanted a simple, white crib and the Babyletto Hudson was the perfect fit.
**quick shout out to my mom for knitting the baby blanket draped over the crib… she’s the best!**
I was pretty set on having a twin mattress in the nursery – mostly because we’re planning on having Liv in her room from day one and it will be nice to have a place to lie down when one of us feels like keeping her company.
That big blank space above the mattress is just waiting for a canvas print of one of Lavinia’s newborn photos.
Since we went with a pretty neutral color scheme with all the whites and greys I wanted to make sure to include a pop of color somewhere. We got the Hemnes dresser from Ikea, painted it with baby-safe, Lullaby paint and spiced it up some decorative knobs at Hobby Lobby!
I got all of the frames/decorations above the dresser from Hobby Lobby as well. The larger print is from this Etsy shop and the smaller one was our one souvenir purchase from Paris!
The chair is also from Ikea, I found the pillow on a random trip to Homegoods and just HAD to buy the adorable stuffed animal elephant from Pottery Barn Kids. [fun fact: I’ve decided that until she can decide on her own Lavinia’s favorite animal is elephants 😉 ]
I’ve got a stash of blankets stored in a basket next to the chair and will probably also store some snacks in there for all those middle-of-the-night-feedings.
One of my favorite parts of the nursery is the reading nook – I cannot wait to read all of these books to Lavinia!
Isn’t this alphabet animal print just precious?!
I’m so pleased with how everything came out and can’t wait for our princess to move in! 😀
