Laguna Beach Date Night
Henri leaves for a two month job on January 15th and the countdown is officially on until his trip! After a pretty lazy and relaxing Christmas break I wanted to squeeze in a fun date night or two before he heads out. For one of these we headed to Laguna Beach this past Saturday afternoon.
We parked by Heisler Park and took a walk along the path that overlooks the ocean.
It was a pretty gorgeous day!
We meandered our way over to the Laguna Beach Art Museum at the end of the park and poked around for an hour or so. The entire museum was filled with the art from one artist, David Ligare, who is called the California Classicist. We really enjoyed looking at all the paintings but concluded that we are definitely not “artsy” people. haha
We made sure to make it back out to the park in time to catch the beautiful sunset!
I sure do love this man of mine!
For dinner we drove down PCH about a mile to one of my favorite restaurants, Nick’s Laguna Beach. From the moment we made our reservation we knew that we would be ordering the Asparagus Fries to start. I still can’t figure out how they get the coating to stick to slippery asparagus but it doesn’t matter because these things are AMAZING!
I kept going back and forth on the fried chicken and the Salmon and ended up settling on the Fried Chicken – best decision ever!
Henri got the Baby Back Ribs and said it was really good. I was hoping to get a taste but after a few bites I looked up my from plate and all the ribs were gone! 😉
No date is complete without dessert so on the way back to our car we hit up Gelato Paradiso for the good stuff! Bacio & Tiramisu for the win —> there’s a waffle cone under there somewhere too. haha
It was a pretty good outing, and to make it even better we were home, on the couch and watching Parks & Rec by 8 o’clock! 😀
What is your favorite gelato flavor?
Does anyone else love Parks & Rec? It took me a while to get into it but we started binge watching it over break and now I’m way into it! Amy Pohler is just amazing in it!
Who else watched Laguna Beach on MTV growing up? I used to LOVE that show and apparently you can take a tour to see all the spots the kids used to go to on the show – that seems to be taking it a step to far… haha
