Friday Favorites [4]
Woah, this week has seriously flown by. I had every intention of posting a recipe and a workout this week but my computer has been acting wonky and I finally just got it to turn on this morning. I will get on typing those up to share this week. Promise!
Since my schedule got a bit thrown off I thought I would share some quick Friday favorites today.
One of the three winning Powerball tickets on Wednesday was sold in our city! To be exact, it was sold at the 7-Eleven half a mile from our apartment. We bought our tickets at the Am/Pm kitty-corner to there… so close yet so far!! After the announcement was made there were new crews and people at the store and helicopters overhead so Henri and I just had to walk down and see all the crazies! haha
Hearing baby’s heartbeat for the first time! I had my 12 week appointment yesterday and Henri and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. We we able to see it beating at our 9 week ultrasound but it is so different to hear it, it was truly magical!
This video that my mom sent me yesterday. It’s of a 92 year-old woman reciting a poem that she wrote called “The Gift-Wrap & The Jewel”. It really puts the focus that our society places on appearance into perspective and is a great reminder to focus on your “jewel” rather than your “gift wrap”.
One last lunch date with my love before he leaves. Henri is leaving late tonight for another 2 month job, so yesterday he took me out for a special lunch date to Mendocino Farms. He got the Peruvian Steak Sandwich…
and I got the Sophisticated Chicken & Prosciutto Salad.
Both were really tasty and we left with happy bellies!
Being able to do a running workout for the first time in weeks! Obviously my training during pregnancy is going to be much more mellow than usual but it sure felt good to get my legs turning over faster than 7:30 pace. I have some tentative races on the horizon so it was especially nice to know that I haven’t lost my speed completely!
The rest of this week has been consumed with class and coaching so I’ll there it there for today! 🙂
