Friday Favorites [2]
We made it to Friday!!!
With a three day weekend right around the corner I thought it would be the perfect time to get pumped up with a few of my favorite things this week!
5 Friday Favorites
1. Valentine’s Day! Henri and I are supposed to be heading off to Boston tomorrow afternoon for a dinner reservation but with the snow that’s coming Valentine’s Day might turn into a homemade pizza and Netflix kinda night. Either way I’m looking forward to spending the day with this stud muffin!!
2. This Chocolate Cream Pie from How Sweet Eat’s. I just want to do a faceplant right into the middle of that sucker! I think I need to run to the grocery store for the ingredients so I can make it while we are snowed in this weekend. 🙂
3. Hatha Yoga. I’m not much of a yogi… I think that comes with the runner territory or maybe it’s more of a “my IT bands are perpetually tight and I can’t touch my toes when I bend over” kind of thing but when I have tried yoga I’ve always gone to Vinyasa classes. The past month and a half I’ve been going to Thursday night Hatha yoga at my gym and it soooo relaxing and really helps me get in a good hour of stretching –> key as my training keeps ramping up!
4. Making a copycat version of Cheesecake Factory’s Thai Chicken Pasta. This used to be the ONLY thing I ordered at Cheesecake Factory but they took it off the menu about a year ago. 🙁 This tasted like the real deal (minus the bean sprouts because we didn’t have any) and satisfied the craving for it that I’ve been fighting for so long! I can’t wait to make it again!
5. These running mittens. They are Gordini brand and I got them at Sports Authority. Ever since I got the my hands haven’t felt the slightest bit cold on my runs (the few I’ve gotten to do outside). That even includes when it’s been 8* feels like negative 1*! I also love that the wrist part is wicked tight so the coldness can’t even seep in through there!!
A couple days after I bought them my friend Court texted me the following…
I know there was a reason we were friends 😉
And for the not so favorite of the day… getting and e-mail from the race you’re running next weekend saying that it might is probably going to be cancelled. Please send your warm thoughts and prayers that Wednesday’s storm isn’t as bad as they are expecting!!!!
Do you made any copycat versions of restaurant meals? In addition to the Thai Chicken Pasta I made this week my mom and I have made the brown bread from the Cheesecake Factory and Panera’s Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
Yoga – yes or no?
Have you ever had a race cancelled before?
