CURRENTLY: February 2015

How is it already February 5th!? The only thing that’s great about time seeming to pass so quickly at this time of year is that it means spring is riiiiight around the corner!

This month I’m CURRENTLY….

LONGING… for sunshine and warmth. Oh, what I would give to be back in college (in California) doing strides barefoot in shorts and a sports bra outside!

ROLLING  MY EYES… at this article. Seriously, when are people going to stop trying to prove that running is bad for us? And what’s up with calling it “jogging” – we don’t jog, we run!

MAKING… batches and batches of roasted chickpeas. You. Guys. I can’t stop eating these. They are sooooo good!

READING… All the Light We Cannot See. I’m a sucker for historical fiction and so when I saw that this book won Goodreads best of 2014 – Historical Fiction I downloaded it ASAP. It is so good that it almost makes up for all the snow recently when I can curl up with this book for a few hours!

EXCITED… to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Henri and I are going into Boston for the weekend and I’m really looking forward to spending time in the city during winter!

WORKING… my tail off working on coaching stuff for my new athletes. I’ve had a bunch of girls sign up recently and I can’t wait to see them all crush their goals this year! I still have a few spots left so if you are interested in coaching send me an e-mail! 😀

ANTICIPATING… fun mail deliveries. On one of our recent snow days I did a bit of online shopping and the Oiselle Flyte Long Sleeve in ORANGE, and a new pair of Altra Provision 2.0 are headed my way!

ROCKING… a cute cartoon tomato band-aid because I wiped out while shoveling the driveway this morning and cut up my fingers pretty good.

WONDERING… what my goal is going to be for my half marathon in 2 1/2 weeks. I have an idea of where I want to be but a week out from races my coach sends me his expectations based on my recent training and I think he has big things in mind! :O

PLAYING… Rummy 500. Lots of time inside means beating Henri at one of our old favorites.

EATING… soup. So much soup. It’s the perfect meal on these absolutely freezing, snowy days!

NEEDING… to get in one run outside this week. Saturday’s long run is 18-20 miles and there is absolutely no way I’m doing that inside. Even if another snow beard is inevitable I’m in desperate need of some fresh air!

WEARING… the Marathon Trial Project t-shirt my coach sent me, I’m in serious love with this thing. Please forgive the bathroom selfie, I couldn’t bring myself to taking one out on the gym floor. (p.s. make sure to wash your hands after being at the gym – that place is one of the easiest places to get sick in the winter!)
