Altra One2 Review
As one of the main sponsors for the Runner’s World Half & Festival, Altra Running sent all of us blogger ambassadors a free pair of shoes. I was really excited because I’ve been wanting to test out Altra’s sneaks for awhile! After browsing their selection of women’s shoes I picked the One2 (said “One Squared”) and after testing them out for a few weeks I can honestly say that I love them so much I wanted to do a review for you guys!
When I opened the box the first thing I fell in love with was the colors! Blue and Orange is my favorite color combo ever (Go Waves!).Another thing that really caught my eye about these sneaks is the shape of the toe box. Do you see how they are more square? Well, I’ll spare you a picture of my gross feet (I should really go get a pedicure) and just tell you that my feet are shaped exactly like these shoes. When I slipped them on for the first time I felt like Cinderella and her glass slipper – but with running shoes which is sooo.much.better! They fit like a glove and are crazy comfortable. Sometimes I forget that I’m even wearing sneakers because the flexibility of the One2’s allows my feet to move and land the way that is most natural. Because of the shape of the toe-box they fit truer to form than most sneakers. For example, in everyday shoes I’m a 7 1/2 but in running shoes I buy 8’s because my toes are usually cramped but in the One2’s 7 1/2 is perfect!
I love that the One2’s have a zero drop platform because it promotes a mid-foot strike. In turn this reduces impact/injuries that come from a heel-strike form. I’ve worn the One2’s for every type of workout (easy run, track intervals, tempo run and long run) and they have performed great for all of them. Every time I slip them on I feel speedier <– I swear they are to “blame” for my 6:59 pace long run this past weekend. I am really looking forward to racing in them this weekend!Overall I give these sneakers an A+!
