A Wednesday “Weekend”
Did you have a good National Running Day??
I started mine off on the right foot (pun intended) with an easy 7 mile run, including 2 on my new favorite trail!
Henri’s work has been ca-razy lately with long hours and working weekends so when he has a day off we make sure to take advantage. Yesterday was his last day off for a week and a half so we made sure to do it up big and treat it like a Wednesday “weekend”!
I picked up some Starbucks on the way home from my run then the boys and I got to work putting together breakfast.
Coffee, eggs, bacon, bagels and strawberries –> a great way to start the day!
Then we caught up on Game of Thrones and all I can say is “whaaaaaat is going on?!!?!?!?”
Laci was a little less enthused by the whole ordeal so after GOT we headed out for a family hike.
We hit up one of the nearby trails and Henri showed us around the old stomping grounds from back in his XC days.
The fellas…
… and the ladies!
We stumbled on a little redwood grove… in middle of Orange County. Who knew?!?
All smiles at the turn around point.
Just when we needed it we stumbled upon a much needed water fountain. I just love when that happens!
We finished off the day with the perfect summer dinner – grilled steak, corn on the cob and pan fried potatoes. Everything was great BUT the star of the show was the potatoes – I took a page out of Jessica’s book and fried them in bacon fat. So DARN good!!!
What is your idea of the perfect breakfast?? I love sweets like pancakes and waffles, but Henri would be happy with eggs and bacon!
Tell me about your run yesterday! Was it awesome?
Trail running or trail hiking?
