A Quick Trip to San Diego
Happy Monday!! This weekend flew by – I’m checking in later than usual today but wanted to pop in real quick to recap the weekend fun my parents and I had! ๐
Saturday morning my parents and I were up EARLY to head down to the OC Championship track meet. 5 of my athletes were racing in the elite meet and we saw 5 PR’s and a race WIN!
After the almost 9 hours in the sun we jumped into the car and drove down to San Diego for the night. Our first order of business after we checked into the hotel was a walk down to Ghiradelli for some ice cream cones! ๐
Sunday morning I woke up early and got in a solid 60 minute run along the harbor. I think I’m almost to the point in my pregnancy when the GPS watch will go in the drawer for a few months because it felt great to be completely ignorant of my distance or pace, haha.
At exactly the same time I finished my run my parents were also turning into the hotel property from their walk. We cleaned up and got ready for the day before walking the mile to my favorite breakfast place in San Diego – The Mission.
I branched out and ordered something new to me, the French Toast. It is made with their homemade cinnamon bread and boy did it hit the spot. So soooo good!
On the way back to our room we had to stop for a photo op in the giant chair!
The rest of the day we spent biking around Coronado. We made some pit stops for lunch, to explore the Hotel del Coronado and for some ice cream cones. We also stumbled upon this cute little park with a great view of San Diego across the harbor.
Love this lady!
At least he kept one eye open – lol.
Before we hit the road back north we stopped in at the rose garden in Balboa park to look at some beautiful flowers!
I’m going to miss these two so much! I loved having them here!! ๐
