A Parisian Babymoon
Hellooooo there!! Long time, no chat! I’m so sorry to have gone MIA the past few weeks but I’ve just been soaking up all the time with this one…
Having him gone for almost half of this pregnancy was really, really hard but it was the best thing for his career. Now just to make the most of the time we have left just us two before Baby Floris makes her appearance!
Today we’re on our way back to Los Angeles from…. PARIS!! When we found out that Henri would be leaving for a second, extended period of time we decided we wanted to do something extra special for our last hurrah pre-baby and Paris seemed like the perfect idea. We’d both been there before (me twice and him just once) so we thought a repeat visit would provide us the opportunity to both do some sightseeing we had previously missed out on as well as just relax and enjoy the city.
We hit some snags like bad weather and a train workers strike (that derailed a few of our plans for day trips) but we definitely made the most of our 9 days in the City of Love!
Instead of doing a detailed recap of each day I thought I’d just share some of my favorite pictures and highlights from our trip…
Kisses in front of the Eiffel Tower
Our adorable Airbnb – home for the week!
A classic view of Paris out our window
Lots and lots of crepes were eaten. Both savory…
… and sweet! :b [Nutella crepes have my heart!]
One of my favorite days of the trip was our day at the French Open!
The weather was cold and it drizzled on and off so we were worried that play might be delayed/cancelled but it held out for the most part and we got to see TWO great matches!!
Serena Williams won her quarterfinal…
… and so did Novak Djokovic! It was so much fun to see two of the best players in the world in action. Bucket list item for sure!!!
Some typical/required Paris sightseeing that we did… the Arc de Triomphe,
… the Louvre,
… Sacre Coeur,
… Notre Dame,
… and the Champs Elysee!
Henri was just a little bummed that we left the day before the Eurocup started in France!
Finally got to go to the Rodin to see the Thinking Man! Third trip’s the charm ๐
I ate a few ham and cheese omelettes the size of my face.
And quite a lot of croque monsieurs!!
Love this man!!
Gelato from Amorino – soooo sooo good!
We found this adorable and super hipster restaurant, Holybelly, and had the most amazing breakfast there. They’re sweet stack was INCREDIBLE!
And Henri really enjoyed the savory stack, I may have to try the eggs and bacon on pancake thing at home soon!
Lounging by the Eiffel Tower and relaxing after a day full of walking.
And that was our babymoon in a nutshell –> lots of sightseeing, museum exploring, walking and tasty food!! Just what the doctor ordered if you ask me! ๐
